At the recent Lipper Fund Selector Forum 2018, Jake Moeller, Head of Lipper UK & Ireland Research, chaired the keynote panel with Lucy Walker, Head of Third Party Funds at Sarasin & Partners, Victoria Hasler, Head of Fund Research at Square Mile Consulting and Tony Yousefian, fund analyst at FundCalibre.

This panel covers the key due-diligence considerations that fund selectors address in their assessment of mutual funds. It is essential viewing for anybody who needs to understand how fund selectors operate and the current issues facing the fund industry today.

About Lucy Walker

Lucy is Head of Third Party Funds at Sarasin & Partners. She joined the firm as a fund analyst in 2011, became a fund manager in 2012 and was promoted to head of the team in 2016. Lucy manages £300m in a range of multi-asset portfolios and advises on £1.8 billion of assets in third party funds. Prior to joining Sarasin, she worked in the multimanager team at HSBC Global Asset Management. Lucy has a BSc Economics and is a CFA Charterholder.

About Victoria Hasler

Victoria became Head of Research in December 2014 after joining Square Mile as Senior Investment Research Analyst. She is a member of the Executive Management Team, which provides input into the strategic direction of the business.

 

Victoria is responsible for managing and developing the research team, in addition to focusing on fixed income fund research and looking after clients. Before joining Square Mile Victoria worked for Brewin Dolphin as a fund analyst. Prior to this Victoria was a Fixed Income Investment Manager at Rothschild Private Bank and a Fixed Income Analyst at Merrill Lynch. Victoria holds a BA (Hons) in Economics with French from the University of Durham, the Investment Management Certificate and in addition is a CFA and CAIA charterholder.

About Tony Yousefian

Tony Yousefian began his career in financial services in 1982. He has been involved in discretionary investment management for both private client portfolios and funds, as an analyst and fund manager, since 1987.

 

In 2003, as the CIO of OPM Fund Management Ltd, Tony founded and managed the OPM range of multi-manager, multi-asset funds, before the company was acquired in April 2013.

Tony is a consultant at FundCalibre. He is also a discretionary investment manager at Avellemy Ltd. He holds the Investment Management Certificate of the Institute of Investment Management and Research and is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
